The controller is the natural person who decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.
This website presents a documentary project. It has no user accounts, no advertising and no third-party tracking. For visitor statistics without cookies, we use WP Statistics on our own server (see the section on visitor statistics). Personal data is processed only to the extent necessary for the technical operation of the website or if you provide us with data yourself, for example via the contact form or by email.
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. The servers are located in the European Union. When the website is accessed, the server log files listed below are processed on the host’s servers. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.
Each time the website is accessed, the server automatically records information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of the request, page accessed, referrer, browser type and operating system. This data is used exclusively for technical security and error analysis, is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short time. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
On the Contact page and via the envelope icon in the image galleries, you can write to us using a form. We process the information you enter yourself: your email address and your message, optionally your name and, if you open the form from a gallery, the number of the photograph concerned. The message is delivered to post@christianfenger.de via our host’s mail server. We use this information only to handle your tip or inquiry and, where necessary, to ask you follow-up questions. It is not passed on to third parties. Tips about people in the photographs are treated confidentially and published only after consulting those concerned. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box in the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future; an informal message is sufficient. To protect against spam, the form contains a check field that is invisible to people; no data is transmitted to external services in the process. The data is deleted as soon as your request has been fully dealt with and there are no retention obligations.
If you write to us by email, for example with a tip about a photograph, we process your information to handle your inquiry and for any follow-up questions. Tips about people in the photographs are treated confidentially and published only after consulting those concerned. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual inquiries. The data is deleted as soon as the purpose no longer applies and there are no retention obligations.
We use Borlabs Cookie to manage your consent. On your first visit, you can choose which categories you consent to. Borlabs Cookie stores your selection in a cookie on your device; it is not transmitted to third parties. Technically necessary cookies, for example to store the selected language (Polylang), are based on Section 25 (2) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. All other cookies and external media are loaded only with your consent (Section 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings.
The “Contrast,” “A−” and “A+” buttons in the top bar store your selection exclusively in your browser’s local storage. This information is not transmitted to us or to third parties and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings.
The Inter font is hosted locally on our server. No connection to Google or other providers is made. Photographs and galleries (NextGEN Gallery) are also delivered from our own server.
If videos from the Vimeo platform are embedded on this website, they are loaded only after you have given your consent via Borlabs Cookie. The provider is Vimeo.com Inc., 330 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001, USA. When a video is played, your IP address and technical information, among other things, are transmitted to Vimeo. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). More information: vimeo.com/privacy.
The link to our Instagram profile is a simple link without a technical interface. Only when you click the link are you taken to Instagram, where the provider’s privacy policy applies.
We use LiteSpeed Cache to speed up the website; no personal data is transmitted to third parties in the process. To protect against spam, we use Antispam Bee, which works without external services. The website is transmitted in encrypted form via SSL or TLS.
To evaluate the use of this website, we use the WordPress plugin WP Statistics (plugin developer: VeronaLabs). The evaluation runs entirely on our web server at Hostinger. No data is transmitted to the plugin developer or to any other third party. WP Statistics does not set any cookies.
When a page is accessed, the following data is processed: the page accessed, the date and time of access, the referring website (referrer), the browser and operating system in general form and the approximate country of origin. Your IP address is shortened (anonymized) before it is stored and additionally encrypted with a key that changes daily (hash). This means we cannot identify you. The country of origin is determined using a database stored locally on the server (MaxMind GeoLite2), without querying external services. No user profile is created.
The purpose is the statistical evaluation of visitor numbers. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in evaluating the website’s reach pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Detailed visit data is deleted after 180 days; after that, only aggregated totals are kept. You can object to this processing at any time pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR; an informal message to us is sufficient.
You have the right at any time to access the data stored about you, to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, to data portability and to object to processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please contact the controller named above.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59 to 61, 10555 Berlin.
